Plátanos en nuestro patio

Corazón looks forward to eating the plátanos from Abuela's patio during her summertime visit to the Dominican Republic. But, as she learns through her family and the people of the barrio, the sweetest plátanos, as with everything good in life, take time and paciencia.

Author Ro Peña (they/them) is a non-binary Afro-Caribbean Dominican from Washington Heights, New York City. Ro is passionate about science, nature, food, creativity, culture, and community. They are a lifelong learner and educator who centers their community building through identity affirmation surrounding gender, sexuality, race, ability, and emotional awareness. Ro has always had a deep love for children’s literature and is eager to share their first story with you.
